As the name suggests, this really is a Wonderful Case of Whites!
Taumata, Sauvignon Blanc. New Zealand - Coming from Hawkes Bay the wine is a rounder, more floral New Zealand Sauvignon with ripe, tropical fruit flavors. Expressive grassy nose backed with tropical fruits and citrus with hints of pineapple in a fruity palate. Crisp acidity, plenty of gooseberry.
Running Duck, Fairtrade 'Organic' Chenin Blanc. South Africa - Classic honeyed melon with notes of white flowers such as honey suckle and a subtle hint of spice on the finish. Fresh, vibrant and palate-cleansing.
Doblez, 'Organic' Verdejo. Spain - This Verdejo is rightly fashionable at present especially when it's made in a clean, fresh style like this offering from organic pioneers the Parra brothers. Made in a lighter style than some with clean ripe fruit and an easy approachability. It shows lovely floral aspects, a little spice and appealing freshly mown grass characters.
Laneway, Vermentino. Australia - A rich and textural white with flavours of tropical fruits, white peach and pear. Light oak balances complete this interesting varietal. A great accompaniment to food.
Finca Fabian, 'Organic' Chardonnay. Spain - A delightful, un-oaked, summery, light wine from the heart of Spain. Harvested at night to ensure better sugar levels, acid and 'aromatics' – the scents that linger after the grapes go into the bottle. It has a ripe bouquet of pineapple and is full-flavoured and crisp like a Granny Smith with a tropical fruit finish.
Archivio, Pecorino. Italy - Classic Pecorino, dry, straw-yellow in colour and an elegantly floral bouquet of acacia and jasmine. Medium acidity with melon, pear and white peach notes both on the palate
